Enter the Twilight

Recently I’ve been playing The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess pretty hardcore. I played it until I got to the Goron Mines, and left it for a while. I picked up where I left off last week, and, minus the days I was at work, I’ve been playing it since. So far I’ve clocked up nearly 20 hours, and just completed Arbitar’s Grounds.

So far, it’s been one of the most epic things I’ve come across. It is so epic, I’m willing to bet it’s as good as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Now that is quite a bold statement. As most gamers should know, Ocarina of Time is one of the greatest games, ever. In fact, it is the greatest game of all time. To match something so magnificently crafted is quite a feat. To be honest, I had to use a walkthrough for Ocarina of Time due to unforeseen circumstances (my little brother deleted my save game file twice), and thus, the experience, while great, was not as good as it could have been. Save for the hard parts of Twilight Princess, I have not touched a walkthrough. Such a great game deserves my time and attention.

That’s all for now. This post was made to let you know how I’m getting on with Twilight Princess, and I’ll make an update when I make more significant progress. After the update, I’ll probably get a review up. No promises though.

I’ve been pretty enamored with Twilight Princess, as well. I’m actually kind of waiting for Okami to come out on the Wii so that I can geek out and compare the two (much to the chagrin of my girlfriend who apparently believes the Wii is some kind of hideous contagion and would rather zone out on high-def games like Ratchet and Clank). I read a review somewhere that said some people “in the video game industry” believe that Okami may be better than LoZ:TP.

Either way, looking forward to what you think about the game once you’re done.

Ive played through both and while Okami is great(and has way better wolf animation) Zelda tp is King.

Personally I DO think it is a better game than OT, though only just barely.

It really is great,Maxon, wait till you see one of the later temples, lets just say get your nostalgia tears toilet roll out.

Thanks for the comments. It makes blogging feel worthwhile when people comment on something I’ve written.

I’ve heard of Okami. My friend Hybridial, who created two of the AMVs I posted earlier, has mentioned it to me on a couple of occasions. I’ll have to check it out at some point.

You’re right about the nostalgic tears, Outlawstar. At this very moment I have entered the Temple of Time, and I was on the verge of crying tears of joy. In Ocarina of Time, the scenes in the Temple of Time have always been my favourite. From the opening of the Door of Time, to meeting Sheik, I am always in bliss.
